Gaggia has recently introduced their latest Classic model, the E24. The major differences between the Gaggia Classic E24 and earlier models include a lead-free brass boiler assembly and group head, as well as a stainless steel coffee holder. This new brass boiler assembly (Top part with the heating elements) has increased capacity by about 25% and weighing about 1.3 kg, compared to the aluminum boiler which weighs 527g.
Disadvantage: The warm-up time to reach "coffee and steam ready" status will slightly increase.
To get the best out of your espresso, whether using the aluminum or brass boiler, attach the empty coffee holder to the group head, switch on the machine, and wait 10 minutes before brewing your first shot.
However, the steam pressure and temperature stability are improved. This new brass boiler can be retrofitted on any Gaggia Classic model (except for the 2015 model). Click on "Fit List" to see the full list of compatible models.
